Dermal hyaluronic fillers
We don't want life experience being reflected in the depth of the wrinkles on the face
Volume loss and sagging of all areas of the face can occur as part of the natural ageing process and individual genetic characteristics. The typical youthful face contour with its triangular shape becomes more square, sagging of cheeks becomes evident, the nasolabial folds become deeper and the lips thinner. Fillers consist mainly of hyaluronic acid derivatives. Since they mimic a natural component of human skin, they are tolerated very well. Their natural water- binding capacity leads to significant hydration and tightening of the skin, an anti-aging effect occurs. Depending on the applied product, the hyaluronic acid is slowly broken down, whereas other ingredients such as Calcium Hydroxylapatite, Poly-L-lactic acid and others trigger the tissue to intense intrinsic collagen stimulation. The effect of dermal fillers lasts between 6 to 18 months - depending on the injected preparation.
Fillers in the face can be used to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften ceases as well as highlight individual parts of the face. In some cases, the combination of dermal fillers and Botox is highly recommended. Preventing and working against skin ageing in the best possible way as well as removing wrinkles in the face consist of a multi-directional treatment: Enhancement and stimulation of the deeper layers of the skin with dermal fillers, regulating the mimic muscles and establishing an optimal anti-aging care (cream, serum). Your skin specialist at sweet skin will be happy to advise you.
Treatable areas
Several areas can be treated at the same time in one session. However, especially for "filler novices" we recommend a successive volume build-up in the sense of a gradual process. We can always do more step by step, if needed. Your specialist at sweet skin will lead you safely through this journey.
Filler is mainly used to correct lines and enhance volume in the middle and lower third of the face - for an optimal result and to smooth wrinkles efficiently, the combination of a hyaluronic acid product and a Botox treatment is highly recommended to benefit from synergistic effects. Your doctor at sweet skin will be happy to advise you what`s best in your individual case.
One session takes about 30-60 minutes. After the treatment, depending on the area, light swelling and sometimes hematoma may occur over a period of 3-4 days. Immediate results are visible directly after the treatment; however the final result can only be expected after 3-4 weeks.
The following areas are particularly suitable for treatment with hyaluronic acid:
-
Cheek area
-
Midface-Lifting
Liquid Facelifting
-
Nasolabial folds
-
Plump and enhance lips
-
Diminish vertical lip lines
-
Marionette lines
-
Jaw Line
-
Sunken temples
-
Under eye area
-
Smooth out a chin crease
-
Improve symmetry among facial features
Costs
Every face has its unique features, so general cost information for the application of dermal fillers in a specific area cannot always be provided. Our specialists at sweet skin focus always on the best possible and natural results. A guideline for the cost of treatment of the lips, nasolabial folds and marionette folds is CHF 600, a midface lift starts from CHF 1’050. However, the price may vary depending on your personal situation and, above all, your targeted results. Please contact us - we will be happy to provide you with a personal quotation.
Please note that the prices for dermal filler injections vary greatly on the market: At sweet skin we only use the highest quality filler products. Our injection procedures follow the latest scientific guidelines to provide the safest treatment possible.
Contraindications
Dermal fillers must not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. People under treatment with anticoagulation (blood thinners), NSAID and certain antibiotics (aminoglycosides) should refrain from dermal filler treatments during the time of their medication. During active herpes infections as well as in the case of a known hypersensitivity to the ingredients fillers cannot be applied.

What side effects can hyaluronic fillers have?
Hyaluronic acid fillers are used to restore volume deficiency and associated sagging of facial contours. The natural loss of collagen and elastin fibres over the years manifest themselves in the loss of elasticity and volume in the skin, the subcutaneous fatty tissue and muscles.
These changes are part of the natural ageing process - but fortunately there are highly effective anti-wrinkle treatments with dermal filler to fight these signs. Individual predisposition leads to less accentuated cheekbones or thin lips already at a young age – in this case hyaluronic acid and dermal fillers can provide a natural build-up. The most frequently treated areas with dermal fillers are the lips, the cheek area, the nasolabial folds and the marionette lines.

Hyaluronic acid belongs to the group of glycosaminoglycans, a chain-like molecule that occurs naturally in human connective tissue. It is found in cartilage, the umbilical cord, the eye and human skin. When we talk about filler substances, we mean hyaluronic acid obtained by bacteria, which is stabilised by a 'cross-linking' process. Hyaluronic acid injected into the deep layers of the skin and subcutaneous tissue has a high water binding capacity. This enables an effective connection of collagen and elastin fibers in our subcutaneous tissue. A three-dimensional net is established, which can lift sagging areas, such as the cheeks. The water-binding capacity of hyaluronic acid also causes a natural hydration of the skin - elasticity and the natural glow of the youth returns. Without these effects that are far more than skin deep, even the best anti-ageing cream is ineffective.
Hyaluronic acid in its natural form is very unstable. Therefore, hyaluronic acid in dermal fillers is being stabilized by a `cross-linking` process. Thus, depending on the preparation it is completely absorbed by the body within 8-14 months, instead of just 30 days as seen in the unlinked hyaluronic acid.
Fillers that additionally contain calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) or Poly-L-lactic acid behave differently. Unlike hyaluronic acid, this ingredient is not broken down but metabolised. The end product of this process is the body's own collagen. If such fillers are used, maximum collagen stimulation can be demonstrated about 3 months after injection. The effect can last up to 18 months – significantly improving the skin structure.
Uncrosslinked hyaluronic acid, on the other hand, as used in mesotherapy, is being broken down from the body in less than 30 days. Skinbooster dermal fillers are injected more superficially and thus lead to a gentle bioremodelling- they are useful as part of a comprehensive anti-ageing treatment.
Immediately after the filler treatment, there may be slight swelling, depending on the area treated. Rarely, a bruise may appear. These side effects disappear after a few days.
Although hyaluronic acid is a body-related substance, small nodules may sporadically form. These usually disappear by themselves after a few weeks. Alternatively, they can be massaged out. If they remain and/or are visually visible, they can simply be dissolved using hyalase. If filler is not applied properly and injected into a vessel, for example, the vessel may be blocked and, in extreme cases, the affected area of skin may die. Filler treatments should therefore only be carried out by experienced experts. Correctly applied, they are a safe method to efficiently build volume without surgery.
