Radiofrequency Needling (Morpheus8)

Radiofrequency Needling with Morpheus8 - A New Minimally Invasive Procedure for Skin Rejuvenation

Morpheus8 is a device that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to target and heat deep layers of skin and fatty tissue. It is a non-surgical, minimally invasive cosmetic procedure used to improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin on the face and body.

In Hollywood, this innovative treatment method is currently all the rage, as it offers similar results to more invasive procedures like facelifts and liposuction, but with shorter downtime and less discomfort. In addition, these treatments can be customized to each patient's unique needs, making them a versatile option for treating a variety of areas and goals.

How does Morpheus8 work?

The Morpheus8 device has a combination of microneedling and RF energy, which makes it possible to target and heat deep layers of skin and fatty tissue. The applicator is equipped with 24- 40 fine, gold-plated needles. The needles penetrate the skin to a depth of 3-7 mm. In the process, the device emits radio frequency energy through the needles. The energy reaches levels of up to 8mm deep.

This combined procedure has a clinically proven, strongly positive effect on the appearance of the skin. The procedure causes the collagen in the skin to contract and tighten, resulting in a more youthful and toned appearance. In addition, working on the deep layers of the skin will help to renew the skin from the ground up by stimulating collagen and elastin production. As a further benefit, the energy delivered to a depth of up to 8 mm (only in medical establishments may this depth be addressed) allows for the melting of troublesome fat cells. These are then removed via the body's own lymphatic system.

Which areas can be treated with Morpheus8?

One of the biggest advantages of Morpheus8 is its versatility. It can be used to treat an extremely wide range of body areas.

Morpheus8 is particularly commonly used to improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin on the face. It is particularly effective on areas frequently affected by aging skin and sun damage. The most commonly treated areas on the face include:

  • Double chin: By contracting the collagen, you can define the jawline and reduce the double chin through targeted fat loss.

  • Bags under the eyes

  • Pigment spots

  • Active acne

  • Acne scars

  • Hanging cheeks

  • Crow's feet

Morpheus8 is therefore a popular alternative to hyaluronic fillers or even a facelift.

On the rest of the body, the following areas are particularly popular:

  • Neck

  • Cleavage

  • Buttocks

  • Knee

  • Back

  • Belly

  • Upper arms

  • Thigh

  • Love handles

How long does the effect last?

The effect of a Morpheus8 treatment depends on a number of factors, such as the individual skin condition, the treated area and the number of treatments performed.

For best effect, a treatment cycle of 3 treatments at 4 week intervals has been established. The effect is usually seen within 4 weeks of the procedure, with the most dramatic results seen 2 to 3 months after completion of the last treatment. It is recommended to repeat the therapy cycle after about 2 years.

Morpheus8 availability

Morpheus8 is an American FDA-approved procedure, yet the procedure is not yet widely available in Switzerland. The availability of this procedure is limited as it is a relatively new and extremely specialized treatment that requires qualifications. As a physician-approved facility, we are authorized to use Morpheus8 treatments in full efficacy up to a depth of 8 mm.

Price

The cost of this treatment starts from CHF 450 for partial zones and varies with the number and size of the treated areas. The most important cost factor is the size of the treated area. We will be happy to discuss the optimal treatment plan and time schedule with you in a non-binding personal consultation.

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

Although Morpheus8 is a safe and well-tolerated treatment, there are certain individuals who are not suitable for the procedure. These include:

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women: As with most cosmetic treatment, pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid treatment.

  • Morpheus8 is not recommended for people who have a pacemaker or other electronic devices (such as a blood glucose meter) in their bodies.

  • Individuals with active skin infections such as cold sores that are stimulated by heat.

  • Individuals who have permanent devices implanted near the treatment area, such as larger metal plates, etc.
