Wrinkles: between facial expressions and vice
A significant part of non-verbal communication takes place via our facial expressions. Fine wrinkles and, over time, deeper wrinkles in the area around the eyes (crow's feet), forehead and frown lines are caused by repetitive, automated tensing of the so-called facial muscles. With a BTX treatment, a temporary, very targeted blockade of those facial muscles that are responsible for these wrinkles can take place - without losing expression. You can bring about a very light to maximum blockage, according to individual demands. The creases will practically fade away by doing this. The application only takes a few minutes and, apart from minimal reddening in the area of the puncture sites, does not cause any irritating reactions. BTX is injected directly into the muscles by using a very fine syringe. The full effect unfolds about two weeks after the treatment and lasts about 3-6 months.

BTX treatment for men differs slightly in terms of the injection procedures, but not in terms of the zones to be treated. To remove wrinkles in the middle and lower third of the face, Botulinum Toxin should only be used in conjunction with fillers.
Costs

Guideline values for the costs incurred for the treatment of frown lines are approx. 350 CHF, and from 500 CHF for the treatment of the entire forehead. Please keep in mind that the prices for BTX on the market vary heavily: At sweet skin we only use botulinum toxin of the highest quality that has not been tested on animals. Our injection schemes follow the latest scientific researches and are therefore considered as very safe.
Contraindication
Despite the extremely safe treatment, there are some contraindications: Botulinum Toxin must not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding, if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients, or if you are taking certain antibiotics (aminoglycosides).

Botulinum toxin A was isolated in 1946 by the American Carl Lamanna and approved as a drug in the USA in the 1970s. When we talk about the well-known BTX today, we mean onabotulinum toxin A, approved in 1989, a very strong nerve toxin that is used in aesthetic medicine, in highly diluted form to treat wrinkles and excessive sweating. The term neurotoxin or “toxin” scares many people. Thanks to the internationally recognized injection schemes used by sweet skin and many years of experience, possible complications affecting facial expressions can be reduced to an absolute minimum. A Botulinum session - performed by experts - is a very safe and effective treatment.
In Switzerland, BTX injections may only be performed by doctors. At sweet skin, BTX is only used by experienced dermatologists under the direction of Dr. Valentina Bänninger.
BTX treatments are suitable for women and men who want to counteract the signs of time. An early start of treatment from the age of about 30 years makes sense to prevent mimic wrinkles. But even in later phases of life, a BTX treatment can lead to a significant reduction and smoothing of mimic wrinkles - but deep creases in the face can only be removed with synergistic measures to build up volume. In any case, the goal is a relaxed, well-groomed appearance - as if you had just come from vacation. Where expression lines are to be smoothed, they must be treated with Botulinum. These are mainly the forehead, the crow's feet and the frown line.
