SP Spectro – Laser technology taken to a new level
Today's laser medicine is the result of massive technical innovations. Lasers can be used for a wide range of indications. Thanks to the latest multi-application systems from Fotona's SP series, laser medicine at sweet skin has reached a new level. The main advantage of this laser is its enormous efficiency while being gentle to the skin treated with it. All procedures are virtually painless and the recovery time after a treatment is very short - this is a decisive advantage especially for laser treatments on the face. With some treatments, the results are visible and noticeable immediately after just one treatment, whereas other indications deserve several sessions to achieve the desired result.
All laser treatments at sweet skin are performed exclusively by doctors or medically trained staff under medical supervision.
Indications for laser
More than one problem can be treated simultaneously with laser in one session. Depending on the indication, 1-2 sessions (e.g. age spots, small vein laser) are sufficient – however, rosacea laser treatment for example, requires about 5-8 applications to achieve sustainable results. Intra ocular eyelid laser is an option if you do not want to undergo surgery- for visible results about 3 treatments are recommended.
All Laser treatments may only be carried out on healthy skin. Active inflammation as seen in acne prone skin for example must be treated before acne scar laser treatment can be performed.

Laser treatments are prohibited during pregnancy to protect the unborn child as well as for breastfeeding mothers. While undergoing laser treatment, certain medications (oral retinoids, antidepressants and antibiotics) must strictly be avoided. Laser treatments must be avoided in patients with increased sensitivity to light (e.g. lupus erythematosus) and wound healing disorders (e.g. severe, diabetes mellitus). People who are prone to hyperpigmentation must not be exposed to fractional laser treatments.

There currently are countless offers for laser treatments in Switzerland - they are often carried out by beauticians or aestheticians who do not have the appropriate qualifications. The risk of burns or poor results is high. From 2023 onwards, the regulations in Switzerland will be drastically tightened - laser treatments will only be allowed if they are carried out under medical supervision or if the therapist has undergone the appropriate medical laser training. At sweet skin, you will exclusively be treated with lasers by dermatologists and trained medical professionals. Before laser treatment can be performed, a correct diagnosis is required first.

There is no general answer to this question. Depending on the indication and the strength of the laser, the treatment frequencies vary considerably. At sweet skin, we exclusively work with class IV medical lasers. These are the most powerful and therefore most efficient lasers available, so that the number of treatments can be kept to a minimum. If you want to treat age spots, 1-2 treatments are sufficient. Rosacea laser treatments often requires 5-8 sessions to achieve optimal results.
The advantage of laser treatment is that all skin layers can be reached without damaging the skin. Thanks to state-of-the-art laser technology, unwanted hair, for example, can be reached directly at the root with the laser energy and thus be permanently removed. The hairs growth cycle is paused, the hair is reduced in size and thus becomes thinner and finer through a natural process until it finally disappears completely. When treating age spots with the laser, the pigment is dispersed by high-energy laser beam, so that the released pigment molecules can be removed by the body.
In contrast to the pigment and vascular lasers that are used for deep-acting laser therapies, the fractional laser treats the uppermost layers of the skin by performing very fine perforations- as a result, the epidermis is being restructured and collagen-rebuilding will be triggered.
The flush symptoms, referring to sudden redness and feeling of heat in de midface, as often seen in rosacea erythematosus, can be excellently treated with laser. More advanced stages of rosacea, however, require other therapeutic approaches as well to achieve optimal results. Laser treatments for rosacea should only be carried out during winter months from mid-October to mid-April.
Laser treatment for rosacea must be carried out 4-8 times at intervals of at least 3 weeks. An improvement of the flush symptoms is usually already noticeable and visible after 2-3 sessions. After completion of the rosacea laser therapy, an annual booster treatment is recommended in many cases to maintain the achieved result.
The successful treatment of age spots requires that they are first examined and diagnosed by a dermatologist. It is important to target the applied laser energy precisely so that the pigment is dispersed but the skin remains intact. The laser treatment of age spots should therefore be reserved for proven specialists. We will be happy to advise you at sweet skin.
