Laser Hair Removal
Smooth skin for a confident self
Laser hair removal is a convenient, non-invasive way to permanently reduce or remove unwanted facial or body hair. Your skin looks smoother and silkier after wax, electrolysis or razor using. In addition, laser treatment is a gentle process that can treat larger areas effectively with no downtime. Today, laser hair removal is one of the most commonly performed aesthetic procedures in the world.
At sweet skin we work with a high-energy diode laser that combines three wavelengths (755/810/1064). The different wavelengths enable an optimal, highly efficient process for permanent hair removal with the laser. Due to the great experience in the use of lasers in the field of dermatology and the performance of our laser, the treatment time can be significantly reduced. We work with so-called Ultra Short Pulse to heat the hair follicles quickly and evenly to an optimal temperature - without heating the surrounding skin. This makes laser treatment for permanent hair removal at sweet skin a very safe, comfortable and efficient procedure.
Treatable areas
Several areas or even all disturbing facial and body hair can be treated at the same time in one session. Irrespective of whether you only laser the bikini zone or the entire leg hair, treatment with the hair laser may only be done in the months from October to the end of April with little sun. A special case is when unwanted facial hair is to be treated with the laser: As facial hair can become an excessive psychological burden for those affected, depending on the skin type and the state of the tan, this type of treatment may also be carried out all year round.
In the case of laser treatment, if possible, the hair should only be shaved for a period of three weeks before treatment, but not epilated, waxed or plucked. The hair should be shaved about three days before the first treatment so that the color and thickness of the hair can be assessed before laser removal. After the first treatment and documentation of these parameters at sweet skin, they should appear with areas shaved the day before - this enables an efficient process and avoids additional costs.
For an optimal result, about 4-8 treatments are necessary. Over the years, depending on the hormonal status (endogenous hormone release or supply of exogenous hormones) and age, isolated hair regrowth can occur. However, these can easily be permanently removed again. Treatment cycles are usually 4-6 weeks but can be adjusted, depending on your skin type and the area of the body being treated.
The following areas are suitable for hair removal / hair epilation by diode laser:
-
Face
-
Legs
-
Back
-
Bikini zone
-
Arms
-
Shoulders
Costs
There are countless offers for laser hair removal, with considerable price differences. This is primarily due to the lasers used for treatment, which differ significantly in terms of their functionality and efficiency. The cost of a laser treatment of leg hair at sweet skin is from CHF 360, the price for laser treatment of unwanted hair on the face starts from CHF 90. Depending on your personal starting point and goals, the price can vary accordingly. Talk to us - we will be happy to make you a personal offer.
At sweet skin, laser hair removal is done exclusively by certified medical experts, under professional supervision.
Contraindication
Laser therapy for permanent hair removal may not be performed on suntanned or injured skin. Laser treatment is not permitted if you are taking light-sensitizing medication (certain antibiotics and antidepressants) or vitamin A acid. Laser therapy must also not be carried out in diseases that are associated with increased sensitivity to light (e.g. lupus erythematosus). Blonde or grey/white hair responds less well to laser treatment because there is not enough pigment in the hair - the indication in such cases must be carefully evaluated to avoid unrealistic expectations regarding the success of the treatment.

How is permanent laser hair removal performed?
If you have unwanted facial or body hair that confuses or restricts you from wearing certain clothing, permanent laser hair removal is the option for you. If you are looking for an alternative to time-consuming procedures like waxing, electrolysis, shaving and bleaching, laser hair removal is a good option. Optimal results can be achieved on people with dark hair and fair skin.

Unwanted body hair can be completely removed - regardless of whether it is small areas such as laser treatment on the face or large areas of the body such as the back. Thanks to the diode laser used by sweet skin, which heats the hair follicles very briefly and quickly, the procedure is almost painless and very safe. Due to the successive miniaturization of the hair follicles and the hair, the skin color and complexion becomes more and more even. For most patients, after an average of 4 to 8 treatments, permanent hair removal can be observed, which brings great relief to those affected in their everyday lives.
With every laser treatment, only hair that is in the so-called growth phase is affected by the laser energy. It can be assumed that hair growth is reduced by around 20% after one treatment. To achieve a visible reduction in hair growth, several treatments are usually required. Laser hair removal is not indicated for blonde or gray/white hair because there is not enough pigment in the hair and the laser cannot precisely focus on its target, the pigmented hair follicle.
The hair should be shaved at home three days before the first treatment. Both the color and thickness of the hair that grows back are documented by your therapist. If necessary, the hair is shaved again. Before all follow-up treatments, you should shave your hair the day before the treatment - this saves time and additional costs. In particularly sensitive areas, such as the intimate zone, it can be useful to apply a topical anesthetic gel 40 minutes before the treatment. You can easily apply this at home to save time.
The laser treatment is optimized by applying a cooling gel so that the laser light can penetrate the skin more efficiently. Depending on the treated area, the duration of the laser treatment varies between a few minutes (upper lip) and around half an hour (whole legs, back). We recommend not doing any sports or going to the sauna on the day of the laser treatment. Sun exposure must also be avoided at all costs.
