Fruit Acid Peeling: A Renowned Combination Peeling Against Many Skin Disorders

A fruit acid peel is a medical treatment procedure designed to renew the outer layers of the skin and improve its appearance. It involves treating the skin with a solution containing fruit acids. Among other things, these acids dissolve the bonds between the dead skin cells on the surface, which promotes the exfoliation process and supports the formation of new, fresh skin.

At sweet skin, we rely on the most modern combination peels, as they allow us to optimize the treatment taking into account the patient's individual situation.

How it works

Our fruit acid peeling is a so-called combination peeling, which is available in individual formulations.

Our experts together with you decide on the perfect formulation based on your skin type, the indications and general condition of your skin. The formulations have the same active ingredients in different mixing ratios. All preparations contain:

  1. Glycolic Acid: A natural fruit acid derived from a variety of sources including apples, lemons, milk and wine. It has the unique ability to penetrate deep into the skin and work from the inside out.
    1. Epidermal effect: At the superficial level, glycolic acid helps to dissolve the bond between thestratum corneum and the stratum granulosum, the upper layers of the skin. This promotes the detachment process and can contribute to a smoother skin appearance.
    2. Dermal effect: In the deeper layers of the skin, glycolic acid stimulates the formation of new collagen. This protein is essential for the elasticity and firmness of the skin, which can reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
  2. Salicylic acid: Unlike glycolic acid, salicylic acid is a chemically produced acid. It works from the outside in, which means that it first works on the surface of the skin before penetrating deeper.
    1. Keratolytic action: salicylic acid promotes exfoliation of the skin, which can open clogged pores and reduce skin impurities.
    2. Anti-inflammatory action: Salicylic acid also has anti-inflammatory properties that are particularly helpful in relieving redness and swelling associated with acne and other skin conditions.

With the combination peel, the patient benefits from a wide range of mechanisms of action that can achieve the following:

  • Promote skin rejuvenation

  • Removal of the top dead skin cells

  • Reducing the thickness of the outer layer of the skin

  • Improved moisture retention of the skin

  • Stimulation for the formation of collagen

  • Strengthening of the acidic protective mantle of the skin

Conducting a fruit acid peel

The duration of a peeling therapy depends on the indication. Usually, 3 to 6 peelings are needed at intervals of 3 weeks.

The peeling process

The peeling itself is thoroughly tailored to their personal needs by our professionals and includes the following steps:

  1. Cleansing and skin analysis with the "active foam":
We rid your skin of makeup, everyday impurities, sweat and excess skin oil to provide an optimal, sterile starting point.
  2. Skin analysis:
After 5 minutes of exposure, the sensitivity is activated by the skin. This helps us to adjust the strength of the acid to your skin’s need
  3. Preparation with "prepeel conditioner":
A 50% alcohol wipe prepares the skin by removing excess oils, ensuring optimal absorption of the exfoliating ingredients.
  4. Protection of the delicate areas of the face: If the peel is used on the face, areas such as the crease between the nose and the corner of the mouth, the lip contour and the area around the eyes are carefully sealed with a protective cream.
  5. Application of the peeling solution:
Using a special brush, the selected peeling mixture is applied and leaves your skin revitalized for between 2 and 5 minutes.
  6. Neutralization and cleansing:
The effect of the peeling is neutralized by another cream, which restores the balance of your skin.
  7. Soothing aftercare:
The treatment is completed with a cooling aloe vera mask, which reduces swelling and moisturizes. Finally, a care cream tailored to your skin type and, if necessary, a sunscreen is applied.
